Backdoor Logo Proposal
by Jiwon Shin

Backdoor is a company striving for being a contemporary record label, not limited to one kind of music style. When exploring what the company’s name “backdoor” looked like in different bold and impactful san-serif fonts, there was a moment of realization that the letter “B” had a slit in the middle. The imagery to a door was made soon enough and experiments with the width of the slit was done. The letter B has been manipulated to keep to the golden ratio of 21:13. For the final design, the half circle shape made to look like a door handle was added. It emphasizes the fact that the space in the middle of the letter “B” is a door rather than a hallway or archway. The “backdoor” is left white, metaphorically indicating that it is the shining backdoor hidden in a back alley. The white door indicates that a brightly-lit stage is waiting for the artists that go through the Backdoor Records and Management.
